TalkTalk ISP launch fibre based broadband trials in London and Cardoff

TalkTalk is currently offering up to 40Mbps high-speed broadband service trials in London and Cardoff, it was reported.

TalkTalk broadband ISP deploys fibre line broadband technology called Fibre to the Cabinet (fttc) to provide at least download speeds of 10 mbps and 2Mbps upload speeds to the cutomers in these areas. FTTC uses fibre optic cable in place of copper wires it can deliver super-fast connection speeds.

BT, the largest broadband provider in the UK has strated the roll out of fibre optic broadband network that will provide super-fast speeds to five million homes by the year 2012. In UK, some network builders and broadband service providers use fibre line broadband technologies to provider high-speed broadband services in selected areas where these products are marketable.

TalkTalk will offer free broadband equipment like modem and router to the customers who live in test areas. Trial service will continue till next year, TalkTalk said in a statement.
